Job Description
The Senior SAP SD Consultant leads complex end-to-end SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) implementations, optimizations, and support projects, ensuring robust integration with related modules and seamless execution of order-to-cash processes. The role requires deep process knowledge, configuration expertise, solution design, and hands-on support to deliver business value and drive continuous improvement in sales, billing, pricing, shipping, and customer service areas. The consultant works as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and a mentor to junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Lead business requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, implementation, and support for SAP SD, covering sales orders, pricing, billing, shipping, and customer master management.
- Drive integration with other SAP modules (MM, FI, PP, WM) and external systems, ensuring efficient order-to-cash processing and accurate data flow.
- Conduct workshops, process mapping, gap analysis, and blueprinting in collaboration with business users and cross-functional teams.
- Oversee user training, documentation, change management, and production support to maximize system adoption and minimize business disruption.
- Provide ongoing optimization by identifying and implementing enhancements, analyzing new requirements, and supporting upgrades and rollouts.
Must Have
- Deep configuration experience in SAP SD, covering sales order processing, pricing procedures, billing, credit management, shipping, and delivery.
- End-to-end SAP SD project experience, including at least one full-cycle implementation, requirements gathering, testing, cutover, and go-live support.
- Strong understanding of the integration points between SD and other SAP modules (MM, FI/CO, PP, WM) for seamless business process execution.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills in mapping business requirements to SAP SD functionality, troubleshooting, and providing effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for user training, functional documentation, and collaboration with project teams.
Nice to have
- Basic ABAP debugging or technical skills for analysis and collaboration with technical teams.
- Knowledge of VISTEX, Variant Configuration, or SAP Hybris/SAP CX integration.
- Experience with S/4HANA, Fiori apps, or cloud deployments in the order-to-cash space.
- Industry-specific process knowledge for manufacturing, retail, or distribution sectors.
- SAP SD certification or prior mentoring/leadership experience in large-scale or global SAP projects.
